OmanMinistryofTransport,CommunicationsandInformationTechnology(MTCIT)aspartofitse-Governanceinitiatives, setupthe PublicKey Infrastructure (PKI) for the Sultanate of Oman. In line with the above,MTCITdeployedaPKIinordertosupporttheuseofe-ServiceswithintheSultanateofOmanandtoleadtheinitiationofthee-services infrastructureasstatedbyRoyalDecree69/2008.
OmanNationalPKIhasthefollowingservicesoptionswhichvariesfromprovidingdifferenttypesof digitalcertificateseithertoDevicesor GovernmentandCommercialendusersubscribers,andforindividuals.OR providing the possibility to join Oman National PKI as RegistrationAuthority(RA) orSubCertificateAuthority(Sub CA).

ProvidetheentitiesbythetimestampandNTPservicesto insuretherealtimeofthe transactions.
-ProvidetheentitieswiththecorporatePKItoken, itcanbeusedforcorporatesignature,authentication andencryption.
-ProvidetheforeigninvestorwhoarenotresidentinOmanaPKITokencontains digital signature and authentication certificate to allow themdoingonline transactionswithout theirpresence.
-Providethegovernmentandprivateentitieswith SSLClientandSSLServercertificates.
-ThemobilePKIsupportspublictodotheonlinetransactionontheir mobilephoneswithoutusage ofPC.
Oman National PKI saves more than million OMR yearly due to unneededof thevendorsupportandmaintenanceastheteam isfullyawareabout theservices,systemsandtheoperationaltasks.
