Formal contact with the EU DCC Committee Secretariat and formal request to connect to the EU Gateway must be made at government, ministry or diplomatic level. A connection to the EU DCC system entails legal obligations on the part of the EU and it is only allowed following a legal act (Equivalence Decision). In parallel to the legal process a technical process to adopt the EU DCC standards and specifications guarantees interoperability and allows the technical onboarding to the Gateway for the exchange of public keys and the connection to become operational.
