Implementation Methodology

  • A dedicated team handles continuous development & management of the Platform
  • A dedicated team provides handholding support and on-boarding of agencies
  • Capacity building is in the form of workshops and practical hands-on.
  • Adoption of DigiLocker in various domains is done by liaising with various regulators (RBI, SEBI, IRDA, TRAI, PFRDA).
  • The Information Technology (Preservation & Retention of Information by Intermediaries Providing Digital Locker Facilities) Rules, 2016 notified to provide legal backing to documents issued through DigiLocker.

Modalities of implementation

  • DigiLocker system is developed on an Open Source stack and the components in its entirety or in parts may be made available to other countries for their own implementation of a similar product.
  • Utilization of cloud based services by DigiLocker for secure and scalable system can be good best practise to be replicated globally.
