This program started as a means of data sharing between Braziliangovernment bodies of the Federal Executive Branch (approximately 250different agencies, of which 85 have already joined the program). In thenextphase,accesstotheshareddatawillbeextendedtoagenciesatthestateandcitylevel,raising thescopeoftheprojectsignificantly.
There are currently 890 different public services using at least one of theavailabledatasets,addingupto1.550differentsystemintegrations.
Currentlytheprogramisabouttoreach600milliontransactionsperyear.
A study has been developed to evaluate the cost savings for society,especially in terms of time spared through simplified access to publicservices.Basedonit, theestimatedsavingshavebeenclosetoR$2.5
billion(aboutUS$500million)sincethebeginningoftheprogram.
Morethan3years.ConectaGOV.BRstarteditsfirstdataintegrationsinMarchof2020.
The main development created for the project is the API manager. Therole of this tool is to add a layer between the providing and receivingsystems,responsibleforauthenticationandaccesscontrol,trafficcontrol,security,among otheraspects.
It's worth noting that some implementation strategies were key to theprojectresults:first,APIaccessisfreetogovernmentagenciesinmostcases, simplifying the budgeting process; there's been a long mappingeffort, in order to identify and prioritize the most sought-after data sets;andtheprojectdevelopmenthashadfromthestarta focusonprivacy
andsecuritybydesignmethodologies.

Currently,theprojectisclosedsource,asithasbeendevelopedbyoneofthestate-ownedITprovidersoperatingin Brazil.

A course on data sharing and integration has been developed and will bemade available soon as a self-guided, online training through the distancelearning platform developed by the Brazilian School of PublicAdministration,afederalgovernmentagencyfocusedoncivilservant trainingandlifelongeducation.
The program has been established and is managed by the Secretariat forDigital Government. The below mentioned decrees provide a regulatoryframeworkthatallowsfordatasharing,whiletheBraziliandataprivacylawaddsspecific requirements for the process.

In 2023,the budget appropriated for ConectaGov.BR has been circaR$11 million (about US$ 2million),considering on lyoperational expenses.
