Brief Background

  • One-stop solution that connects patients, hospitals, and doctors on a single digital platform
  • It is based on based on the global healthcare standards like HL7, SNOMED-CT, ICD10 and LOINC, and Meta Data and Data Standards (MDDS) published by Government of India.

Objectives

  • To provide single interface for patients across the country
  • To improve quality of healthcare services to the citizens
  • To create the Clinical Electronic Health Record (EHR) of the patients across the country

  • Patient doesn’t have to stand in long queue to book the appointment
  • Better allocation of resources at hospitals for benefits of administrators
  • Easy access of health records of the patient as the data is available digitally to doctors
  • Facilitate on an average 175,000 patient visitsdaily

Implementation Methodology

  • On boarding Hospitals of State/UT on to eHospital application on national cloud
  • Providing support to Hospitals State/UT for implementation of eHospital application
  • Availability of existing modules (Patient Registration – OPD & Emergency, IPD – Admission/ Discharge/ Transfer), Billing, Lab Information System, Radiology Information System, Clinics, Store & Pharmacy, Dietary, Laundry and OT Management) of the e-Hospital application on cloud
  • Providing technical and functional support to hospitals through a dedicated Call Centre/Helpdesk
  • Trainings (video conferencing, e-learning tutorials, etc) and workshops

  • Availability of resources (cloud infrastructure, hardware, software & manpower resources)
  • Applicability of modules in the hospitals
  • Availability of operational manpower resources in the hospitals
  • Availability of ICT infrastructure (desktops, printers etc.) in the hospitals
  • Availability of LAN and Internet connectivity in the hospitals
  • Availability of dual connectivity from different Internet Service Provider (ISP) in the hospitals

Modalities of implementation

  • Legal & other aspects: MoU can be signed with NIC
  • E-Hospital Readiness Assessment Study can be done
  • Prerequisite
    • Availability of resources (cloud infrastructure, hardware, software & manpower)
    • Applicability of modules in the hospitals
    • Availability of operational manpower resources in the hospitals
    • Availability of ICT infrastructure (desktops, printers etc.) in the hospitals
    • Availability of LAN and Internet connectivity in the hospitals
  • Financials will depend on actual sizing of requirements – in terms of number of hospitals, hardware, software & manpower requirements
